JOB: Open Position of a Regional Manager, DFID Financial Education Fund
Swisscontact is in the stage of preparing a bid for the DFID Financial Education Fund in a consortium with other partners. In case the project is awarded to the consortium, Swisscontact is looking for a Regional Manager for the fund management. The Financial Education Fund will be managed at international level by a Central Management Unit. The Regional Manager will be supporting the Central Management Unit at regional level. He/she will be heading a team of Country Managers of selected African countries and supervises their operations.
Candidates who match the following criteria are encouraged to apply: • Professional with an orientation in either: financial sector development, private sector development. • Familiarity with the most recent trends in financial and private sector development, especially financial literacy and education. • At least 7 years experience in an international agency in one of the above mentioned related fields, out of which 3 years as project manager/team leader or at deputy level. (Work experience with DFID of advantage.) • Proven skills in organization and administration of complex processes, such as tenders, competitions, project implementation • Excellent English and French comprehension and expression. • Work experience in Africa.

If the contract is awarded, the assignment will start on June 1, 2008. The home base will be in an African country still to be determined.
